Author Visits

Colleen Dougherty creating a Story Circle with students during an author visit at a grade school.

Two (45 minute) presentations: $350

Grade K - 3   45 minutes "What if..." an elephant wore pink slippers?

We'll discuss inspiration and how we all possess the ability to create stories by learning the secret of "what if...?" I'll also cover the necessary components in every story by creating a story circle with the students!

I love author visits! When I prepare for a visit, I can't help but think back to when I was in school. I want to make sure I plan a visit the children will remember. It's important to me to offer a program that will be interactive, entertaining, and educational. I would love for the students to feel inspired to use what they've learned from my program in their own writing.

Grade 4 - 6    45 minutes

I offer a slide presentation to discuss the differences between traditional and self-publishing. I'll talk about the pros and cons to both and share editing skills every writer should know.

*My programs can be modified to match your lesson plans or lesson verbiage.

My books can be ordered in advance and personalized to the students request.

I hope to see you soon!
